SUMMARY:Decoding the Past: Recovering Sensitive Data from SRAM Aging Impri
 nts
DESCRIPTION:Zakia Tamanna Tisha and Gaines Odom (Auburn University), Biswa
jit Ray (Colorado State University), and Ujjwal Guin (Auburn University)\n
\nLong-term data remanence in SRAMs can pose serious security risks when d
iscarded ICs retain sensitive information. Unlike DRAM and Flash memories,
SRAMs have been largely overlooked in this field due to their very short
retention periods. Prior works demonstrated that aging-induced imprints en
able partial data recovery in SRAMs, but only when recorded initial power-
up states are available. In this paper, we have proposed a recovery approa
ch that eliminates this requirement by reconstructing initial states throu
gh controlled aging. By analyzing the reconstructed and aged power-up stat
es, we demonstrated near-complete data recovery from SRAM chips after 12 h
ours of controlled aging using only 32 copies.\n\nTopics: Quantum\n\nTrack
