SUMMARY:A Correlation-Aware GKP Decoder for Fault-Tolerant Continuous-Vari
 able Photonic Quantum Computers
DESCRIPTION:Ryosuke Matsuo and Junichiro Kadomoto (The University of Tokyo
)\n\nThe Gottesman–Kitaev–Preskill (GKP) encoding is a promising approach
for realizing fault-tolerant continuous-variable (CV) photonic quantum com
puters. \nRecent studies have investigated various GKP decoding algorithms
, among which correlation-aware methods that exploit inter-qubit correlati
ons achieve significantly improved error-correction performance. \nHowever
, hardware implementation of GKP decoding remains largely unexplored. \nEr
ror decoding in CV photonic quantum computers must operate within tens of
nanoseconds to match the optical clock frequency.\nA straightforward hardw
are implementation of correlation-aware decoding introduces substantial co
mputational latency due to its arithmetic complexity. \nTo address this ch
allenge, this paper proposes a high-accuracy and low-latency accelerator a
rchitecture optimized for correlation-aware GKP decoding. \nLogic synthesi
s using 7-nm FinFET technology demonstrates that our decoder can complete
correlation-aware GKP decoding with in 12.96 ns.\nIn addition, comprehensi
ve design space exploration is conducted to evaluate tradeoffs among decod
ing accuracy, latency, and circuit area, leading to design guidelines for
 future correlation-aware GKP decoder implementations.\n\nTopics: Design, Q
 uantum\n\nTrack: DES6. Quantum Computing\n\nSession Chairs: Yannick Stade
(Technical University of Munich) and Shigeru Yamashita (Ritsumeikan Univer
 sity)\n\n
