Session
Quantum Stack Attack: Building the Machine
Session Chair
DescriptionAs quantum computing advances toward system-scale deployment, the transition from individual qubits to robust, scalable architectures has emerged as a central challenge. This special session, "Quantum Stack Attack: Building the Machine," brings together leading experts from industry, national laboratories, and academia to examine the foundational innovations driving the next phase of quantum computing. The session highlights four complementary directions essential to building practical quantum systems: high-fidelity hybrid analog–digital simulation on Google's Willow processor; benchmarking and modeling of early fault-tolerant architectures; development of high-precision quantum control techniques for complex multi-qubit devices; and integration of AI-assisted methodologies for design automation and system optimization. By connecting progress across these layers of the quantum stack, the session presents a unified perspective on the engineering principles and computational tools required to move beyond NISQ-era demonstrations. Attendees will gain insight into emerging methodologies reshaping quantum system design and understand how these advances collectively define a roadmap toward reliable, next-generation quantum computing with broad impact across science, technology, and industry.
